November 28, 2010

OK. Thanksgiving done, Christmas started. It's Santa's workshop theme this year.

But can't I just enjoy them for one more day? I think so....here's the center of the Thanksgiving pennant string.

I'm thankful for the fact that we celebrate Thanksgiving on Friday. It makes the cooking so much easier!! This year we did Thankful pennants writing down or drawing what we were thankful for, we read them as our table grace. Jack's was a simple Happy Thanksgiving. Adorable!

Before everyone arrives into town I was trying to sneak in a bit of Christmas by getting a few presents wrapped. When I walked out of the room for a minute, Zoe grabbed one of the extra pieces of paper and started munching on it.....I guess I won't be using that to wrap a small stocking stuffer gift.

Yes it's a Tuesday, but it's a holiday week. Who can say no to lunchtime sangria with Leighton? Does it matter that I'm dining with Team Nevinz at the same restaurant tomorrow? No, the chips and dip are tooooooo delicious to turn down!

Show off. Whenever I see a snobby Prius driver, I think this person must be a hypocrite. Reminds me of the time I saw a Prius driver smoking.

Today I made pumpkin whoopie pies - a favorite fall treat. This is what my kitchen looks like when I cook - just keepin' it real.

Catching the early flight home today - left my hotel at 4:25am to catch the 6:00am flight. Sunrise in San Francisco as we take off and turn West.

Dinner with the Andersons! Isn't it nice when you just go knock on an old friends door and they let you in and feed you dinner?! A great night hanging out with Bob, Sharon, Christine, Keith, and Mike as well as their kiddos and spouses

Christine, Claire, Keith, Mike, Gina, and Keith's older daughter (I can't remember her name, but I'll find it out!)

Visiting the old stomping grounds in Concord! Here's the 2nd house I grew up in - the first one hardly counts we moved when I just just a few months old. The place looks pretty good!

Flare up at the refinery! We're at Sea Tel to setup for training and the power went out at about 4 in the afternoon. This caused the refinery down the street to do an emergency flare giving us some pretty dramatic views as well as a shelter in place for the area.

A present it on its way to Nana today!

Today I worked from home - my cubemates loved it!

Somebody was sure tired on Sunday night at dinner time! And she wasn't the only one! Even though we fell back an hour, getting up at 5am to get to Race for the Cure meant I didn't get a lot of sleep either! But on the upside, I was able to find all of my team members and walk the course with way less stress this year. Together our team raised $870 - beating our total from last year! Woo hoo!

It's off to the movies while Jim & Heather head to a wedding. We caught Megamind, which was enjoyed by all. Caroline seemed to have a bit of difficulty with the concept that the bad guy was really a good guy, but I think she liked the film anyway.

Race for the Cure! I picked up our team packets of shirts and running numbers for Sunday's Race for the Cure. So excited that I was able to meet my fundraising goal of $125 in time for the event! Thanks to everyone out there to helped to make that happen.

Woo hoo! I made it home in time to watch the game on Thursday night. Well, I missed most of the first half driving back from Houston, but that was fine because GT scored two touchdowns on VT turnovers. Happy to see this outcome - an interception in the end zone to end the GT drive in the last seconds of the 4th quarter!

Another day, another trade show in Houston. Of course we were there in full flying monkey force. The carpet in this place was bonkers - you couldn't see anything that you dropped, I suppose it's a good thing, but it made booth set up really hard when you can't find the tools! Here is our marketing guru, Billy and James ready to hand out monkeys.

It was a travel day for work as well as election day. I ran across this sign along the road and thought it was strange. First off, they are encouraging you to use your cell phone, second, what is with the proportion of this dude's head to his hat? It's odd to say the least!

Bluebonnets in the yard - since they only had the maroon bluebonnets at the nursery, I decided to put those all in the back yard. I can't wait for Spring!
